Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) have become more publically accessible in recent times. Our AED training covers where to find one, when to send for one and when and how to use it.
AED training can be incorporated into a tailored course, or be provided as a shorter stand-alone course.
You can find your nearest publically accessible AED at www.aedlocations.co.nz. Survival rates decrease significantly with every minute that defibrillation is delayed.
Training will include the following:
- Environmental conditions
- The primary assessment process
- Patient preparation
- Patient dignity and privacy.
We also explain and demonstrate current CPR processes according to ANZCOR guidelines.
During the course, a practical demonstration of the HeartSine 500P Defibrillator will be given, after which candidates may have an opportunity to practise with the equipment provided.

Need a Defibrillator?
At TriEx we wanted to do our bit for the community, so we have an AED in our foyer which is available to the public in case of an emergency in the area. This Defibrillator is kindly supplied by Alsco.
Defibrillators are costly to own as the upfront cost is expensive, and they must be regularly maintained to meet Health & Safety regulations. Alsco offer a Rented Defibrillator service, charging a more affordable annual fee. For a one off fee, Alsco will:
- Provide your workplace with an AED and alarmed cabinet
- Maintain and/or replace your AED every 3 months for no extra cost
- Ensure your AED is legally compliant, avoiding fines
Along with rented Defibrillators, Alsco can also supply you with:
- Managed First Aid Kits
- Eyewash Stations
- Vehicle & Portable First Aid Kits
