This half day workshop provides participants with a grounding in:
• Health and Safety in Employment Act (1992)
• Hazard identification, assessment and control
• Accident reporting and investigation
• Emergency procedures
• Staff training
• Principals’ and contractors’ responsibilities
Changes to the Act effective from 2003, including:
• Employee participation - what is it, how does it work, who is involved
• Personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Stress and fatigue
• Principals’ and contractors’ reporting responsibilities
• Mobile workplaces
• Duties of suppliers and hirers
• Obligations regarding volunteers
• Enforcement
Who should attend?
Managers, health and safety representatives and any staff with an interest in making work a safer and healthier place to be.
Timeframe and Participation:
Approx four hours. This timeframe can be extended depending on your training needs.
Minimum charge applies. Maximum number of participants - 15.
