Health and Safety Management Systems

The “Health & Safety in Employment Act 1992” specifies that all employers must provide for the safety of employees while at work and must have a system for:
  • the identification, assessment and control of significant hazards in the workplace;
  • dealing with emergencies which may arise while employees are at work
TriEx makes your work a safer place to be by providing a structure that meets NZ Standard 4801” Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems” and legislative requirements.
  • We can tailor the system to meet your company’s individual requirements;
  • We can provide comprehensive training of a core group of staff on how to use the system;
  • We can assist with hazard identification and control;
  • You may qualify for reimbursement of a portion of your ACC Workplace cover premiums*

Usually included within the system are modules covering:
  • Employer Commitment (including a Health & Safety Policy)
  • Planning, review and evaluation
  • Hazard management
  • Information, training and supervision
  • Accident reporting, recording and investigation
  • Employee participation
  • Emergency planning
  • Contractor and visitor management
With a TriEx Health & Safety Management System you can have confidence that you have a comprehensive system that contains the required structure to help keep employees and others safe.

What’s involved?
  • TriEx Safety Division staff will work with you or members of your staff to provide a Health & Safety Management System that will meet legislative requirements and the requirements of your company.
  • We will visit your workplace and meet with key people to gather information and determine the unique features of your workplace.
  • An initial draft of the system will be produced and changes made through a consultative process before a final copy is created for your approval.
  • When the system is finalised, you will receive a hard-copy of the Health & Safety Manual in a four ring binder with each page printed on quality cardstock to enable easy updates and a robust working copy. Also included is an electronic copy of the manual in MS Word format on CD to allow you to make changes as necessary in the future.
  • At this point a core group of staff can be trained on the use of the system or we can assist with implementation issues such as hazard audits.

Once the system is embedded, businesses with a TriEx Health & Safety Management System have the opportunity to join the ACC “Workplace Safety Management Practices” incentive programme (WSMP) with the potential for receiving between 10 and 20% reimbursement on their ACC WorkPlace Cover premiums*.

Should you require additional assistance or ongoing support we are happy to provide this on either a casual or contract basis. The rate for this work is subject to negotiation depending on the quantity and spread with time. Formal training sessions can be arranged for your staff either on or off site covering a wide range of topics. We will be happy to provide a quotation for you at the appropriate time.
