Andrea Donaldson
Occupational Health Nurse
Andrea Donaldson what is your role at TriEx? My role at TriEx is an Occupational Health Nurse. I trained as a registered nurse and then completed a postgraduate diploma through Auckland University. I am responsible for looking after the health and safety for several different companies in the Timaru area. I also do health monitoring in the South Canterbury district.
What does it mean that you DO and what do you love the most about that? What it means:
- I get a lot of satisfaction when I can help someone who has a health or safety issue. Been able to give them someone guidance how to handle their health or safety issue
- Giving people health care while they are at work and seeing what their job involves
- I also enjoy the challenge of rehabilitation and getting people back to work or finding them a more suitable job.
What I love:
- I love it when someone comes back to you and says thank you for your advice and they have done something about it.
- Making work a safer and healthier place to be.
In addition to work what occupies you? I love having time with my family which includes my husband Nic and our three children. We live on a farm which is great for the kids and I love the open spaces. We enjoy as a family camping holidays and skiing in the winter. For myself I love the outdoors, running and mountain biking. I competed in a few events in 2010 and hope to get back into next year. To relax I enjoy a good book and to catch up with friends over a wine.
What ten words help describe you and life? Family, Honesty, Open, Travel, Outdoors, Happy, Skiing, Having Fun, Gardening and Friends
